Job Description

The Financial Services industry is operating in a challenging environment due to global economic pressure, increasing regulatory demands and capital requirements, and significant operational and technology changes. Our growing Financial Services Advisory team provides strategy, management, technology and risk consulting services to help major financial institutions around the world respond to their most complex business challenges. The Financial Services Advisory practice is composed of three industry sectors: Asset Management, Banking and Capital Markets, and Insurance.

Our Application Technology consultants provide an end to end solution offering including Application Development and Integration, Application Architecture, custom IoT and mobile solutions, User Experience, Quality Management and Testing, Business Process Management and helping clients determine the best applications for their business needs and integrate new and existing applications into their business including Mobility integration. This high performing team works with various types of technologies and software framework such as

Java, .Net, iOS, HTML5, ESBs, advises on the software development life-cycle, and helps architect and develop specific applications for clients. Additionally, they assist with integration of new applications and quality management and testing.

Position/Program Requirements

Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 7

Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree

Certification(s) Preferred: Certification(s) Preferred: Guidewire functional certified in Policy Center, Billing Center and /or Claim Center

Knowledge Preferred:

  • Demonstrated ability with Java or GOSU programming.

  • Knowledge of Property and Casualty Insurance domain (Policy, Claims, and Billing applications as per product requirements).

  • Experience documenting business and functional requirements for complex projects, managing technical teams.

  • Leading Applications Strategy and Integration engagements.

  • Providing thought leadership when applying methodologies, managing architectural project elements, and setting technical direction.

  • Designing and delivering innovative solutions from concept through implementation.

  • Leading teams to envision and prioritize requirements, creating application implementation road maps.

  • Managing and providing oversight of all technical issues.

Skills Preferred:

  • Policy Center, Billing Center and/or Claim Center Integration development with relevant certification. Minimum Guidewire version is 7.x and above.

  • Previous experience with the design, development, modification and deployment of software, including object-oriented programming concepts.

  • Experience with Agile methodology, Source version control, and Release management.

  • Previous experience working a Middleware platform like Websphere ESB, MuleSoft, Webmethods or similar software platform is plus.

  • Experience designing, developing and deploying complex integrations working with Guidewire software and many multi-tier applications and systems.

  • Experience utilizing technical experiences in Java/Gosu to build and maintain integrations for multi-platform applications.

  • Experience working with J2EE, Application Servers, XML/Web Services/ RDBMS.

  • Previous work on various data structures and platforms from legacy flat files to complex relational models.

  • Experience with architecting and creating solution designs and effectively presents solution architecture with various options with estimates.

  • Experience implementing integration modules that can be reused, ensure loose coupling, easily scalable of various system and its components.

  • Experience developing GUnit/Junit tests for testing business logic.

  • Experience designing and developing batch processes inside Guidewire Centers and also external batch process that connects with Guidewire systems.

  • Ability to configure workflows based on business requirements and logic.

  • Ability to design and develop adapters and service APIs and Plugin components based on business requirements.

  • Experience resolving issues identified during testing of the various integration requirements.

  • Experience working with a development team using Agile methodology to deliver software.

  • Ability and prior experience assisting in GOSU and integrations code reviews, code cleanups and helping to perform sprint demos.

  • Experience organizing code merges and environment management tasks.

  • Experience performing minor and major Guidewire software upgrades.

  • Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses of large and complex data.

  • Ability to manage engagement and implementation efforts, contributing to project planning, engagement administration, budget management, and completion of engagement workstream.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior software consulting experience, ideally in a Portal, BPM, DM or EAI related setting

Project Management skills (Risk Management, Scope Management, Change Control, etc.)

Server Architecture experience dealing with high availability environments
