Job Description

PwC's US Finance organization is a strategic business advisor responsible for managing the firm's financial risk, including: financial planning and reporting, data analysis, and assisting leadership with strategic and tactical matters. Services include: budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs, data and analytics, shared services and financing. Finance works daily with US Leadership, engagement partners and managers on managing the profitability of engagements.

Finance has assisted other PwC Network firms regionalize their financial operations. Finance also analyzes potential acquisitions, assisting with the integration (including system needs) and educating partners/managers on how to navigate our various financial systems.

Finance Strategy & Business Operations (FSBO), which includes Business Operations and Finance Strategy, is responsible for executing finance transactional processing as well as setting and implementing the overall Finance strategy for the US Firm.

The Business Operations team is responsible for delivering all transaction based services provided by Controller Operations including source to pay, contract to cash, payroll, time and expense, accounting operations, and tie-outs/quality checks.

The team manages a third party supplier utilizing operational metrics to achieve service level targets.

Additionally, the team identifies, anticipates and resolves operational and technical issues within the context of the department's business and provides strategic and operational planning support to the department leader.

Position/Program Requirements

Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 5

Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree

Degree Preferred: MBA or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Certification(s) Preferred: CPA Knowledge Preferred:

Demonstrated knowledge of offshoring processes.

Extensive knowledge of Accounting and

Reporting Operations.

Skills Preferred:

Ability to manage the execution of offshoring processes to an offshore provider

Ability to provide leadership with day-to-day oversight of the Accounting and Reporting operations to facilitate the execution of the finance initiatives and delivery of activities that maximize processing efficiency and quality.

Ability to manage and direct global service providers regarding operational issues and identifies processes that will prevent recurrence of the issues in the areas of Accounting and Reporting.

Ability to provide strategic direction for direct reports;

Make sure staff understand how their assignments contribute to meeting the objectives of the department/Firm.

Ability to recognize ineffective strategies and recommend alternative approaches or solutions to capitalize on change; help others adapt and remain productive through change by explaining rationale.

Ability to establish metrics and monitor departmental efficiency; recommend solutions for areas of improvement.

Ability to define and manage strategic projects e.g., resource requirements, project objectives and budget; assess and proactively suggest staffing changes so that the team has the capability, competence and time to perform the engagement/project in accordance with standards.

Ability to establish policies and procedures for the various teams within the department; contribute in the development of new methodologies or approaches to address client or Firm needs.

Ability to develop and implement controls and procedures so that processing, analysis and reporting is done timely and accurately.

Ability to develop project plans.

Ability to team with Finance Leadership, Process Owners, Offshore Provider Leadership and the Global Strategic Sourcing organization.

Ability to coach staff, resolve staff issues, set performance goals, prepare and deliver training for group, prepare annual performance reviews, participate in Annual Review Committee and in the hiring/terminations for the team.

5 years at a supervisory level position.
