The Office of the Chief Data Officer is charged with being the voice of data and generally representing data as a strategic business asset. The primary role of this organization is to champion the use of data and information across the firm, and drive changes and improvements in data related operations. This office will help to enable the business, as well as provide insights related to attendant risks.
Significant effort will be dedicated to determining PwC data related needs, and developing proposed solutions. The Chief Data Officer team identifies where, when, how, and why the business uses data, and transforms it into information that serves clients.
The Data Factory is the go-to place for identifying, provisioning, transforming, and delivering data and analytic tools to data scientists and analysts in client service, market and sector programs, and analytic applications development groups. The Data Factory provides specialized expertise in staging data for analytic use and matching the right toolsets to analytic problems. The team provides a scalable process for ensuring data quality and enabling advanced analytics that drive added value to our clients.
The Technology Platform team manages an integrated infrastructure and Data Management capability in support of the Chief Data Officer and Data Factory strategy. The Technology Platform performs lifecycle data management activities across the firmâ€™s portfolio of third party data, provides data engineering support on a project basis, and processes ad hoc requests for data access and reporting.
Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 2
Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or GED
Degree Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Management, Data Science, Business Intelligence, or Data Visualization.
Certification(s) Preferred: Certified Information Professional; Certified Information Privacy Professional; Certified Records Manager; Certified Information Systems Security Professional.
Demonstrates thorough knowledge and/or a proven record of success in roles involving the use of technology related to data and information, emphasizing the following areas:
Data engineering and integration;
Data and information governance and management;
Data protection and information risk management; and,
Data lifecycle management.
Demonstrates thorough abilities and/or a proven record of success in roles involving knowledge identifying industry-leading practices relating to data engineering and information governance and management, preferably for a global network of professional consulting firms, emphasizing the following areas:
Documenting functional and technical requirements that reflect identified business issues or problems to be solved;
Developing project plans and templates, including the identification of project phases;
Analyzing project schedules and performing project plan maintenance to incorporate updates and changes to the master project plan;
Preparing reports and presentations at the project and executive levels;
Analyzing projects to track issues, risks, dependencies, milestones, cost and progress against agreed plans and reviewing project documentation for accuracy;
Implementing data integration and data management solutions with a specialized focus on automating and bringing workflows to production;
Overseeing test planning and quality management activities in data management workflow cycles;
Translating data models and architecture design into code development approach and at times develops the code;
Proven specialization in SQL database management and enterprise ETL tools including Informatica PowerCenter; and,
Staying abreast of emerging trends and relevant technologies, as well as seeking opportunities to implement new ideas.
