Job Description

PwC's US Finance organization is a strategic business advisor responsible for managing the firm's financial risk, including: financial planning and reporting, data analysis, and assisting leadership with strategic and tactical matters. Services include: budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs, data and analytics, shared services and financing. Finance works daily with US Leadership, engagement partners and managers on managing the profitability of engagements.

Finance has assisted other PwC Network firms regionalize their financial operations. Finance also analyzes potential acquisitions, assisting with the integration (including system needs) and educating partners/managers on how to navigate our various financial systems.

Internal Firm Services, IFS, Finance is responsible for providing financial services and support to the IFS functional leadership and management. Functions include budget and forecast preparation, monthly closings, financial analysis and reporting, and cost management activities.

The budgeting, planning and financial analysis team provides specialized support to firm leadership in understanding the firm's financial results and providing key reporting of performance metrics.

Position/Program Requirements

Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 5 years of experience managing projects of increasing complexity

Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree

Degree Preferred: MBA or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Certification(s) Preferred: CPA Knowledge Preferred:

Demonstrates proven extensive knowledge of, and/or success in managerial roles involving, key business and strategic priorities leveraged to support the areas of financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for a global network of professional services consulting firms.

Skills Preferred:

Demonstrates proven extensive abilities and success with performing on teams that provide financial support to the operations- and infrastructure related functions

  • Analyzing financial data, identifying reporting needs, and preparing recommendations to management;

  • Owning the budgeting/forecasting process for the assigned specialty areas, or key firm initiatives that may arise;

  • Developing business plans and forecasts, budget comparisons, ad hoc financial analysis for the specialty areas;

  • Confirming the integrity and accuracy of the financial reporting and analysis provided;

  • Providing independent decision-making and problem-solving on issues affecting individual IFS functions, influencing leadership in the execution/implementation of programs, initiatives, and strategy;

  • Participating and, at times, driving IFS Finance and cross-functional projects;

  • Providing input in decisions related to the strategic and technical direction of the department, Finance leadership and projects;

  • Interacting with and influence the highest levels of leadership;

  • Providing coaching and development to support personnel on the IFS Finance Team; and,

  • Serving as a key member of the budgeting, planning and financial analysis team and provide critical support to Finance and leadership.

  • Independently make decisions and solve problems affecting individual IFS functions and to influence leadership in the execution/implementation of programs, initiatives, and strategy.
