Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:
Data Storage Technologies: SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, cloud-based data solutions such as GCP BigQuery, and different storage formats (e.g. Parquet, etc.);
Data Processing Tools: Python (Numpy, Pandas, etc.), Spark, cloud-based solutions such as AWS Glue or Databricks;
Machine Learning Libraries: Python (scikit-learn, genism, etc.), TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Spark MLlib;
Hardware: sensors, robotics, Raspberry Pis, GPU enabled machine learning, FPGAs, etc; and,
DevOps including Linux and Windows command line control, scripting, source code control (such as GitHub), and containers (including Docker, Kubernetes).
Current agile methodologies, specifically Scrum;
Java, Scala, Spring, Groovy, Maven, Gradle, SOAP and web services, REST APIs and open source software;
Statistical Analysis and Techniques;
Visualization techniques and tools, i.e. D3/HTML Visualizations, Tableau/Qlikview/Spotfire/etc, Advanced Excel/Access UI, etc.;
Advanced analytics techniques, regression, simulation, utilizing R/SAS, SPSS, Java, VBA, etc.; and,
Applicable sources of external, internal or new data sources, i.e. SQL, Oracle, NoSQL, Hadoop, MSFT Access, etc.
Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in consulting within a professional services environment, emphasizing the leading of teams involved in full life-cycle software and/or multi-discipline development, including the following areas:
Using “Big Data” technologies and systems including HDFS/Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Snowflake, Columnar and noSQL environments;
Understanding of Kafka or Kinesis architecture and operations;
Defining and implementing sharding strategies and topic management;
Understanding Azure, AWS, and GCP services and offerings and use and deployment in SaaS offerings;
Designing event-driven architectures that appropriately leverage streaming and batch processing;
Partitioning, indices, and performance management for NoSQL and Columnar databases and data warehouses;
Supporting “hot” production client environments;
Understanding Multi-Tenant security and performance compartmentalization of environments and their requirements;
Understanding web-based systems architecture, service-based architecture including microservices, enterprise application architecture as well as experience managing expectations when balancing alternatives against business and financial constraints;
Fostering team commitment to tasks and influence key people inside and outside of the group;
Having a flexible communication style based on the audience (i.e., eliminating technical jargon when needed or deep diving into technical details with the development team);
Collaborating with cross-functional teams, building relationships and achieving results without a direct reporting relationship; and,
Grasping a range of functional and nonfunctional requirements to understand an application scope and define the right architecture including solution components and interactions.
