PwC Data Scientist - Tax Innovation - Senior Associate in Dallas, Texas
A career in our Data Science practice, within Innovation services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients’ tax departments redesign, redefine, and redeploy tax to be a strategic asset across the enterprise. You’ll focus on assisting clients incorporate increased automation in the tax reporting process, increase analytic capabilities through data integration, and create solid internal controls that will enable the Tax function to deliver better quality output and contribute more strategically to organisational decision making.
Our team focuses on developing cutting edge data analytic and automation applications that provide data and visualisation support for large and small complex data sources.
As a Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Proactively assist in the management of several clients, while reporting to Managers and above
Train and lead staff
Establish effective working relationships directly with clients
Contribute to the development of your own and team’s technical acumen
Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues
Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients
Continue to develop internal relationships and your PwC brand

Demonstrates thorough abilities and/or a proven record of success and experience as a team leader including:
Developing analytics and reporting using multiple analytical, visualization and reporting tools including PowerBI, SSRS and Tableau;
Demonstrating some level of experience with the MS Business Intelligence stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS and PowerBI);
Demonstrating MS SQL Server Design and Architecture experience, familiar with T-SQL, stored procedures, logical/physical schema design and query performance optimization;
Demonstrating experience and understanding of data platform services in Microsoft Azure including experience in migration from on-premise to cloud;
Building and deploying cloud-based and/or PaaS solutions;
Processing and analyzing large data sets using Hadoop, Spark or similar technologies;
Understanding of the agile programming methodology;
Communicating thoroughly, both face to face and on the phone with thorough written communication skills and experience writing design documents or white papers;
Understanding of software development life-cycle, Microsoft Web Technology stack and experience utilizing Microsoft Application Life Cycle Management using Visual Studio Team Server 2015/2017 (recent TFS is also acceptable);
Working well in a team environment, including a collaborative approach to design and architecture; and,
Demonstrating thorough quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills.
As a tax technical professional, demonstrates ability to research business and industry trends to develop a point of view to leverage in assisting with proposals, considering opportunities across multiple lines of service.Experimentation with automation & digitization in a professional services environment including but not limited to: - innovating through new and existing technologies, along with experimenting with digitization solutions; - working with large, complex data sets to build models and leverage data visualization tools.Exposure to pricing, client value and the negotiation process - including reviewing contracts and finding opportunities to introduce new pricing options.We are transforming the way we deliver tax services.
