The Process Businesses practice is one of PwC's national practices that focuses on specific service offerings for which we have developed economies of scale to reach a broader client base.

Clients of this practice benefit from our ability to leverage off of the collective knowledge of our team that has been gained through serving clients in similar industries and businesses.

Members of this practice serve as business advisors by providing high-value tax services and strategic planning ideas to their clients.

The Master Limited Partnership (MLP) Practice is a dedicated multi-disciplinary group specializing in publicly traded partnerships.

Our practice has offices in Houston and Dallas and over 95 dedicated professionals across the tax, project management, and technology disciplines.

For the 2012 tax year, we issued over 8.5 million K-1s for over 150 partnerships.

We advise our clients through every stage of their lifecycle – pre-IPO, IPO, secondary offerings, private placements, mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, investor reporting, and tax compliance. As a tax professional, you’ll be mentored by industry veterans and work side-by-side with our project management professionals and our software and technology infrastructure professionals to continue the exceptional standards of service our clients have come to expect over our 27 year history.

The MLP Group is organized into three core functional areas: tax team, client team, and technology team.

Both the client and tax teams directly leverage their subject matter expertise against a variety of custom applications to deliver a high level of value to our clients.

The systems administration team is responsible for all facets of our technology infrastructure including: data assurance, security, network support, and storage.

Position/Program Requirements

Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 1

Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or Computer Science

Certification(s) Preferred: MCSA, MCSE, MCITP: Server Administrator and/or MCITP: Enterprise Administrator

Knowledge Preferred:

Demonstrates some hands-on knowledge of and/or proven success serving in a role monitoring and diagnosing technical issues with production systems. Demonstrates some hands-on knowledge of and/or proven success serving in a role applying technical and functional systems expertise to resolve support issues. Demonstrates thorough understanding of systems infrastructure components, including solid functional knowledge with several of the following technologies: MS Windows Server technologies (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, IIS, etc.). TCP/IP operations, IP subnetting, routing, switching and LAN/WAN troubleshooting. VMWare vSphere or similar virtualization technologies. MS SQL Server supporting ASP.NET applications. Storage technologies such as RAID, DAS, SAN, iSCSI. Web hosting configuration components (firewalls, load balancers, clustering). VB Scripting, PowerShell, or general knowledge of .NET development. Demonstrates some knowledge of, and/or proven success working in, on-call environments.

Skills Preferred:

Proven ability and/or some direct, hands-on knowledge of all areas associated with the Systems Administration including design, testing, implementation, and support. Demonstrated ability to execute basic to moderate systems implementation projects with minimal direct supervision, injecting technical expertise. Proven ability to offer upward recommendations to team members on improving processes and future technical enhancements.
