Our Contracting Center of Excellence consults and aligns on risk management positions, provides input and information on fully executed and in-negotiation contracts, coordinates with other risk management teams on responses to engagement team inquiries and connects risk management teams with relevant in house counsel colleagues.

The One Firm Risk Organization (OFRO) Risk Assessment Facilitation Team (RAFT) provides a role focused in the risk management (RM) and quality aspects of the Firm. OFRO works as an enabler to support Firm, Platforms, and Practice Team Leadership; works with Global and other Territory RM teams, OGC, Independence, E&C and other client service/ infrastructure teams. The RAFT CCOE team focuses on contracting risk and supports the Firm with all matters of client service and other related contracts.

The OFRO RAFT CCOE team has a deep understanding of risk management, quality and independence policies and guidance, and the application of these policies and guidance to new strategies, services and related initiatives and because of this, our client service engagement teams have the ability to serve their clients and markets more efficiently and effectively.

The CCOE Managing Director will lead a number of critical transformational initiatives to improve the contracting process and must demonstrate thought leader-level knowledge and a proven record of success in the following areas:

  • Applying contract law and skills in negotiating and drafting contracts, especially as it relates to contract language that deviates from standard templates, in a consulting services environment;

  • Serving as a primary point of contact for Managed services, Outsourcing arrangements and System Implementation services and other related contracts, preparing exceptions and reviewing draft proposals, reviewing engagement letters and assisting with negotiation of terms related to the delivery of those services, review and negotiation of non-disclosure agreements, and other engagement related contract requests;

  • Demonstrating thought leader - level knowledge of US commercial law and familiarity with legal concepts;

  • Identifying, mitigating and controlling client engagement risks and experience assisting teams with troublesome practice matters should they arise;

  • Directing efforts and large teams to develop and implement sound contracting standards using an action-oriented approach;

  • Working with a high degree of independence and applying project management methodologies to drive compliance related initiatives;

  • Directing efforts to provide guidance to teams and/or projects on contractual matters and work to build consensus with multiple stakeholders;

  • Leading initiatives and contributing to the development and integration of guidance and policy across multiple functions;

  • Solving complex problems related to contract transactions using a creative and collaborative mindset;

  • Respecting and maintaining confidentiality of clients, staff, and Firm information;

  • Possessing extensive experience as a team leader: supervising teams and creating an atmosphere of trust and seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation;

  • Being comfortable challenging other and being challenged; and,

  • Communicating clearly and concisely in verbal and written communication including the utilization of Google Suite to draft and review documents and analyze data.
