As a Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. PwC Professional skills and responsibilities for this management level include but are not limited to:

Industry sector (overarching understanding):

  • Understanding Commercial Manufacturing and/or Technology Transfer for Biologics, Vaccines, Small molecule, Cell/Gene Therapy, Combination products, etc.;

  • Understanding of global manufacturing trends and practices;

  • Understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP); and understanding of ISO certification requirements; and,

  • Understanding shop floor manufacturing experience and understanding of finite scheduling, CAPA resolution, production run execution, material flow, lean manufacturing, risk management.

Function, processes and execution understanding

  • Having experience working on cross-functional teams;

  • Having analytical skills to collect, model, analyze/frame options and recommendations for continuous improvement;

  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and key drivers of improvement for capacity, yield, cycle-time, throughput, COGs, etc.;

  • Understanding Departments: Commercial mfg, pharmaceutical sciences/CMC, drug substance, drug product, formulation, fill/finish, packaging, technology transfer;

  • Understanding processes and activities: PAI Readiness, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), Demand/Supply Mgmt, Inventory Mgmt, Warehousing, Contract Mfg.Mgmt., Capacity Mgmt, Capital Mgmt., etc.; and,

  • Understanding TPM and Predictive and preventive maintenance programs.

Technology understanding, application and optimization:

  • Understanding IoT connectivity, big data analytics platforms (e.g. MS Azure), Alteryx, PowerBI; and,

  • Understanding standard technologies and business systems like MES, ERP, or MRP and “next gen” technologies like digital twins and “smart” factories.

Demonstrates thorough abilities and/or a proven record of success contributing to the development of business vision and strategies, managing complex organization transformation through people, process and technology changes, and possessing consultative and project management experiences in the following areas:

  • Building proven and collaborative relationships with team members;

  • Leveraging diverse views to encourage innovation and helping develop and grow team members throughout the course of every engagement by providing timely meaningful written and verbal feedback;

  • Delivering significant business results that reflect strategic and creative thinking, problem solving, and individual initiatives;

  • Identifying and addressing client needs, building, maintaining, and utilizing networks of client relationships;

  • Managing resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, and status updates;

  • Communicating effectively in written and oral formats to various situations and audiences;

  • Managing and conducting quantitative and qualitative benchmarking and primary and secondary analyses of large and complex data; and,

  • Utilizing and applying into projects knowledge of applications and systems that support the following processes: product lifecycle management, ideation management, project planning and requirements gathering and Agile project management.
