Our growing Health Industries Advisory (HIA) team provides strategy, management, technology and risk consulting services to help healthcare institutions around the world anticipate and address their most complex business challenges. Our practitioners are supported by a dedicated health research unit, which is managed by a physician partner and provides our clients with cutting-edge intelligence, perspective, and analysis on issues transforming the health industry. Our professionals have deep health industry expertise and include physicians, nurses, system specialists, health policy analysts, actuaries, financial advisors, and data analysts. The HIA team includes the following sectors: Health Services – Payer/Provider, Pharmaceuticals and Life Sciences – Suppliers and Innovators/New Entrants.

Scientific lead to assist with developing quantitative solutions such as large-scale computational system dynamics models of biological systems. Responsibilities may include development, coding, calibration, validation and scaling; statistical analysis of large data sets, and development of data visualization tools for healthcare clients. Candidate should be comfortable overseeing and technically supporting junior biomedical engineers, developing client deliverables, and successfully delivering high-value engagements based on the model’s analytic capabilities.

Demonstrates a thorough level of abilities with, and/or a proven record of success as both an individual contributor and team member identifying and addressing client needs:

  • Human physiology, molecular and cellular biology;

  • Statistical data analysis;

  • Numerical methods and parameter estimation; and,

  • Understanding of technical academic literature.

Demonstrates thorough abilities and/or a proven record of success as a team leader:

  • Possessing experience with computer programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C/C++, Python, Go, Julia), simulation software (e.g., Matlab, AnyLogic), and statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS);

  • Possessing experience with predictive/simulation modeling, with a specialty in biological simulations;

  • Having the ability to lead the development, coding and calibration of mathematical computer models of physical or biological systems;

  • Having the experience with numerical methods and parameter estimation of mathematical models;

  • Having the ability to use data analysis to extract and summarize information;

  • Having the ability to design and implement data collection programs;

  • Having the ability to clearly articulate value position in client discussions;

  • Having the ability to work independently and virtually;

  • Having the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks;

  • Having the ability to research and analyze pertinent client, industry and technical matters;

  • Having a high attention to detail;

  • Possessing proven communication and writing skills.
