Strategy and Alignment is accountable for enabling the GMO to achieve its purpose by articulating strategy, driving alignment & collaboration across the GMO and with its stakeholders, and focusing on the continuous improvement of functional capabilities & ways of working. As the Marketing Capability Development Senior Manager, this position will work closely with the leader to support the translation of the marketing vision into a strategic roadmap & plan.

Demonstrating intimate abilities and/or a proven record of success in:
Developing a compelling narrative that articulates the “what’s in it for me,” drives commitment and transcends across a diverse stakeholder landscape;
Understanding of modern marketing and sales capabilities, and able to articulate how a global marketing function builds brand equity, develops client relationships, builds pipeline and grows market share;
Supporting the development and evolution of a strategic roadmap to drive strategic and behavioral change, ideally for a marketing organization in a B2B or services context;
Seeking input from subject matter experts across marketing functions to inform strategic planning around which areas a modern marketing organization should be investing in, including technology;
Driving strategic change management across a global organization;
Advocating change, maintaining team morale and championing a growth/ development mindset;
Understanding complex stakeholder landscapes and developing of a stakeholder plan to proactively manage and influence key decision makers and influencers across a marketing function and the business;
Navigating complex situations applying firm policies and procedures and where necessary, identifying and managing risks;
Conducting strategic workforce planning for a marketing team, to assess baseline capability, identify capability gaps and develop a plan to mitigate gaps through recruitment and upskilling existing talent;
Supporting the development of a talent management strategy and actively managing talent to meet the short, medium and long term needs of the marketing function;
Analyzing qualitative and quantitative data to inform medium-long term strategic and workforce capability planning;
Developing strategic training plans for a marketing function to drive development in modern marketing and sales capabilities and enabling skills such as agile ways of working and data analytics;
Measuring and reporting on the effectiveness of strategic initiatives in driving the intended outcomes, and communicating benefits realized to senior leaders across the business;
Building and managing collaborative working relationships across a marketing function, Finance, IT and HC teams (including learning and development);
Leading and coaching a team to support professional development of talent across the GMO;
Driving cultural change across a global organization;
Training or certification in Agile/ agile ways of working; and,
Working with marketing automation systems (Salesforce Marketing Cloud preferable).
