The Office of the Chief Data Officer is charged with being the voice of data and generally representing data as a strategic business asset. The primary role of this organization is to champion the use of data and information across the firm, and drive changes and improvements in data related operations. This office will help to enable the business, as well as provide insights related to attendant risks.
Significant effort will be dedicated to determining PwC data related needs, and developing proposed solutions. The Chief Data Officer team identifies where, when, how, and why the business uses data, and transforms it into information that serves clients.
The Data Analytics Academy group empowers our people to think differently about leveraging data, incorporating visualization and analytics into our services, and disrupting the competitive landscape. As more data is available in everything we do, this high-powered team works with our leaders to build out and develop data analytic and advanced analytic capabilities in our practice. The Chief Data Office team helps PwC practitioners and PwC leaders across all industries, markets and business challenges.
Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 4
Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or GED
Certification(s) Required: Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, Teaching, Project Management Professional (PMP).
Degree Preferred: Bachelor's degree
Certification(s) Preferred: in Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, Teaching, Project Management Professional (PMP).
Demonstrates extensive knowledge and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:
Understanding and applying data extraction/transformation, analytics and visualization approaches;
Leveraging business intelligence software such as Alteryx, Tableau, Power BI, etc.;
Utilizing communication skills, including the ability to work with leaders to facilitate and instruct in large meeting settings;
Managing a technical landscape to stay relevant to customers and competitive with the external environment; and,
Managing others; including teaching, mentoring or coaching others.
Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success
synthesizing data and sharing knowledge with others, emphasizing the following areas:
Using a high degree of collaboration, ingenuity, and innovation to apply tools and techniques for application in business settings;
Managing high performing teams, comprising data scientists, data analysts, client service practitioners, etc.;
Leveraging techniques to perform data analysis, and experience with Alteryx, Power Query and other agile technologies;
Designing interactive visual interfaces and dashboards (Tableau, Qlikview, Microsoft Power BI);
Demonstrating knowledge in advanced analytics and statistics;
Consulting, instructing, and/or meeting facilitation skills;
Being curious with an investigative mind towards data analysis and storytelling; and,
Demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks while quickly adapting to changing priorities or roles.
