Job Summary & Description

A career in our Data Engineering practice, within Innovation services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients’ tax departments redesign, redefine, and redeploy tax to be a strategic asset across the enterprise. You’ll focus on assisting clients incorporate increased automation in the tax reporting process, increase analytic capabilities through data integration, and create solid internal controls that will enable the Tax function to deliver better quality output and contribute more strategically to organisational decision making.

Our team focuses on designing and building data models, codification of business rules, mapping data sources to data models, developing data quality solutions, and evaluating technologies to continue to enhance the capabilities of the broader innovation group.


As an Intern/Trainee, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution.

You’ll play an integral role supporting staff as needed for an outstanding variety of work and making contributions to the team on a daily basis.

Demonstrates some abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:

  • Participate in select projects; demonstrating creative thinking and individual initiative;

  • Cultivate teamwork dynamics through working as a team member including understanding personal and team roles, contributing to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members and proactively seeking guidance, clarification and feedback;

  • Prioritize and complete tasks and communicate potential conflicts to a supervisor; and,

  • Exercise professional skepticism in gathering, reviewing, and analyzing client information.

Demonstrates some abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:

  • Full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Java or Scala to include object oriented design, continuous integration and standard decompose unstructured text, problem solve and learn new tools and technologies quickly and develop test plans, test cases and code automated test scripts which can be integrated with Continuous Integration (CI) processes, and development environment tooling such as Jenkins, Git, Jira, Confluence, Splunk, Databases and Representational State Transfer (REST) services, Web application architecture and technologies, and Linux OS;

  • Conduct pattern matching, regex creation and approaches to; and,

  • Problem solve, prioritize, and handle multiple tasks.
