Job Description

The Innovation practice is a national group comprised of a variety of teams that focus on implementing solutions internally and externally that will impact the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our clients' tax functions. Process improvement, transformation, system implementation, effective use of technology and data & analytics, and leveraging alternative delivery solutions are key areas of focus to drive additional value to our clients. PricewaterhouseCoopers is nationally recognized for its in-depth tax technical knowledge and tax process improvement skill sets. The Tax Reporting and Strategy (TR&S) practice is dedicated to helping companies assess the complexities of delivering value and managing risk in their tax functions through the improvement of people, process, data and technology. Team members serve as business advisors to clients by leveraging a standard methodology to deliver sustainable tax performance improvement and tax accounting services. Our Tax Reporting and Strategy team features multi-disciplined staff including: accountants, attorneys, economists and technologists from a variety of backgrounds, including corporate tax professionals, tax professionals from law firms, technology professionals and tax advisors from the Firm's practice offices.

Our diverse skillsets combined with our established methodologies provide a unique perspective as we assist clients in transforming their tax processes from analysis to implementation.

Team members get exposure to a variety of areas including tax department operational performance improvement, SharePoint and document management, tax technology strategy, tax data management and analytics, tax accounting and vendor implementation, and strategy related to people and organizational structure.

The Data Optimization and Automation (DOA) practice within Tax Reporting & Strategy (TRS) is comprised of tax and technology professionals that work with our clients to define and implement intelligent technologies such as robotic process automation, machine learning and natural language processing. Our DOA practice is focus on deploying technologies that can be implemented in short sprints, to address acute problems, with manageable costs. We are seeking professionals with significant client-side advisory experience or individuals who have gained project and technology delivery experience within large recognized organizations.

Position/Program Requirements

Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 5

Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree

Certification(s) Required: At least one of the following: CPA, EA, Admission to the Bar, Professional Certification in Project Management (PMP), Six Sigma Black Belt/Lean Black Belt/Master Black Belt, Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP), SAP Certified Professional, Oracle Certified Professional

Degree Preferred: Master's degree in Accounting or a Juris Doctorate

Knowledge Preferred:

Demonstrates extensive-level, knowledge success with managing the identification and addressing of client needs in the following areas:

  • Delivery of large scale business/technology projects;

  • Tax organizational design, process improvement, controls, risk management, tax strategy and implementation of software products; Data ingestion technologies (Alteryx, Azure Data Factory, Trifacta, SSIS, etc.); and,

  • Data visualization/analytics tools (Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, etc.)

Demonstrates extensive knowledge and/or a proven record of success as a team leader in the following areas:

  • Utilizing excellent communication, facilitation, and influencing skills in all aspects of assigned project areas;

  • Balancing strategic thinking with pragmatism;

  • Incorporating analytical and logical skills coupled with creative and technical problem-solving skills in day to day assigned project areas;

  • Being action oriented and organized with a focus on conflict resolution, consensus building and negotiation.

Skills Preferred:

Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:

  • Tax technology implementations, including selection of software packages, assessments of processes and data flows, tax systems implementation and configuration and digital tax transformation; and,

  • Tax-related data analytics

Demonstrates extensive-level, abilities success with managing the identification and addressing of client needs by developing and sustaining deep client relationships using networking, utilizing negotiation and persuasion skills to identify and sell potential new service opportunities; preparing and presenting complex written and verbal materials; and defining resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing and collection.

Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success as a team leader in the following areas:

  • Leading teams to generate a vision, establishing direction and motivating members, creating an atmosphere of trust, leveraging diverse views, coaching staff and encouraging improvement and innovation; and,

  • Utilizing

effective written and verbal business communication within a professional business services environment, including interacting with clients and firm staff and/or management.

The Automation Manager will work with industry leading experts on how to rethink business processes and become more agile through automation. Transform they way we do business through Robotic Process Automation, Machine Learning, Intelligent Process Automation Platforms.
