Job Description

The PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Ethics & Compliance (E&C) Office advances and fosters integrity based decision making and conduct by PwC professionals throughout our organization.

We promote and monitor compliance with applicable external laws and regulations as well as internal policies and procedures, and thus help manage PwC's regulatory, litigation and reputational risk.

The Ethics Business Conduct (E&BC)

team manages (1) the Ethics HelpLine by providing policy guidance and conducting internal investigations, (2) PwC’s Code of Conduct and the E&BC policies within Our Standards (the U.S. supplement to PwC’s Code of Conduct), collaborates on related ethics communications and training, and (3) the Firm's AA/EEO compliance and governance program.

Position/Program Requirements

Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 4 years of prior experience in firms within the professional services and/or financial services industries is preferred.

Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or GED

Degree Preferred: Bachelor's degree

Knowledge Preferred:

Demonstrates extensive knowledge and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:

  • Internal investigations and related processes, including investigating alleged violations of law, regulation and policy;

  • Policy and process development and improvement;

  • Investigation report writing, and trend analysis (analyzing data and preparing reports);

  • Ethics, code-of-conduct, compliance and related topics and policies from an Ethics and Compliance or related perspective (e.g., legal, forensic investigations, HR, internal audit, IT, finance, security and procurement); and,

  • Professional services industry, including financial services, legal, audit, tax or advisory.

Skills Preferred:

Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in the following areas:

  • Demonstrating investigation skills, preferably involving complaints of law, regulation, integrity violations, harassment, discrimination, retaliation, time, expense, gifts and entertainment fraud, conflicts of interest, and breach of privacy/confidentiality;

  • Leveraging written and verbal communication skills involving (1) receiving and investigating complaints, (2) having challenging, sensitive and confidential conversations, (3) providing policy guidance, (4) policy maintenance and development, (5) ethics communications and training, and (6) trend analyses;

  • Conducting root cause analyses including change agility, especially the abilities to analyze data and reporting trends and continuous improvement of processes to align with regulatory and business changes;

  • Operating with a high degree of independence and accountability in the receipt and investigation of complaints and while guiding and collaborating with internal leaders, staff, clients, and vendors;

  • Organizing and prioritizing in order to manage multiple projects concurrently; and,

  • Collaborating with stakeholder functions in an internal investigations process, including Legal, HR, Internal Audit, IT, Security, Finance, and Procurement, seeking diverse views to encourage improvement and innovation.

Locations include New York Metro, Florham Park, Phoenix, Charlotte, Chicago, New Orleans, Tysons Corner/DC Metro, or Tampa

Candidates should be able to report to one of these offices up to 5 days per week, some flexibility for virtual days may be available pending business priorities
