A career in Finance, within Internal Firm Services, will provide you with the opportunity to help PwC in all aspects of our Finance internal function including financial planning and reporting, data analysis, and assisting leadership with overall strategy. You’ll focus on recording and analysing financial transactions, paying and receiving invoices, maintaining financial statement ledger accounts, and preparing analysis and reconciliations of bills to detect fraud. As a part of our Internal Firm Services, you’ll provide strategic oversight, manage operations, and develop policies for all aspects of the Finance team.

Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in providing services related to controls related to financial reporting, compliance and operational processes, including business process and IT management controls, which includes a proven record of success with managing the following:

  • Understanding financial reporting and information technology risks, processes, and controls;

  • Understanding current and emerging technologies which may include: Oracle, SAP, Oracle Database, web development tools, virtualization, UNIX, Linux, and security technologies;

  • Understanding core risks, processes and internal controls related to non-financial reporting, both manual and IT;

  • Understanding risks, processes and controls related to financial reporting, both manual and IT, in a specific industry sector;

  • Understanding relevant subject matter specialization to support the development of thought leadership; and,

  • Understanding key internal operational processes of a professional services firm, e.g., engagement economics, billing and collection, performance appraisals, time reporting, personal independence and compliance requirements.

Demonstrates extensive abilities and/or a proven record of success in controls related to financial reporting, compliance and operational processes within a professional services firm, including business process and IT management controls, which includes a proven record of success with managing the following:

  • Using the Firm's standard suite of work solutions (e.g., Lotus Notes, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), technical tools (e.g., SAP, Business Warehouse, etc.), and data manipulation and visualization tools;

  • Providing day-to-day oversight support for the IT System Controls and ICFR/IT audit teams;

  • Leading controls assurance or controls readiness projects associated with external audits, internal audits and service organization controls reports, e.g., SSAE 16;

  • Identifying key risks and controls, recommend improved controls, perform controls readiness projects and identify and assess configuration of controls in financial reporting related business processes as well as in IT infrastructures, security, change management, operations and program development;

  • Operating as the primary liaison between the IT System Controls team and management to oversee and direct the day-to-day process of documenting the Firm's company-level IT System Controls and system application controls;

  • Taking responsibility for the quality of the team's work products and addresses the needs of the client, the Firm and other stakeholders; and,

  • Managing and coaching staff as they perform assessments to evaluate controls, security, SOD, and execute audit procedures.
