Job Description

The National Mergers and Acquisitions (M and A) group is comprised of subject matter specialists in the areas of Corporate and Partnership Tax M and A. The group advises multinational corporations, privately held companies, and partnerships on the tax aspects of planning, structuring, and executing transactions of all sizes including but not limited to the following:

-analyzes proposed restructuring and acquisition transactions;

-interprets complex statutory and regulatory actions relating to corporate and partnership transactions;

-performs quantitative analysis to assess the tax consequences of specific transactions;

-assist clients with regulatory and legislative initiatives;

  • and, prepares for client review submission requests for private letter rulings and technical advice from the IRS.

PwC's Partnership Analytics group, within National Tax Mergers and Acquisitions, is focusing on bringing the best technology to market by undertaking development of a tool that will allow for tax planning through modeling complex deals and transactions.

Position/Program Requirements

Minimum Year(s) of Experience: 3

Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree

Degree Preferred: Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or Computer Science.

Certification(s) Preferred: CPA, Microsoft Solutions Developer (or previously, Microsoft Certified Professional)

Knowledge Preferred:

Demonstrates considerable knowledge and/or success in the following areas:

  • Software development within a broad organization; and,

  • Liaising between technical business users and technical developers.

Skills Preferred:

Demonstrates considerable knowledge and/or success in the following areas:

  • Analyzing business needs and translating them to technical requirements;

  • Writing SQL / VB (or any object oriented programming language);

  • Analyzing large, complex data sets, with an aptitude to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis;

  • Partnering with stakeholders to establish priorities and organizing

efforts to achieve goals;

  • Demonstrating experience with Project Management; and,

  • Providing candid, concise feedback in a timely manner.

Demonstrates considerable experience with change management including the following:

  • Teaching others how to use the software as well as troubleshooting user issues;

  • Demonstrating formal documentation of the software to assist in change management process; and,

  • Testing of the software to ensure results are functioning as designed, along with the triage reported issues.
